Artisanale Cafe & Bistro

The venerable Bookshelf cafe has been taken over by a new chef and substantially upgraded. The key item is the chef/owner (formerly ofOsgoode Hall Restaurant in Toronto) sources locally. It is French cooking but he uses ingredients from within 200 miles (and closer) if possible. The local sources are listed on the menu and are as close as vegetables from the Jesuit farms at the north end of town. The first restaurant in Guelph to make such an effort for local food. And, as you would expect, it pays off in the freshness.
